A classic reborn! With its introduction nearly a decade ago, Magellan pushed the boundaries of iOS technology and quickly became one of the platform's most popular synthesizers. Yonac's flagship, the Magellan Synthesizer 2, continues this legacy by offering pristine sounds, innovative features, and user-friendliness while preserving the original's unique character.

Featuring cutting-edge synthesis technology, punchier tones, warmer filters, and greater modulation options, the Magellan Synthesizer 2 brings forth a new era in sound creation. It also includes AUv3 support, MPE compatibility, and an array of brand-new presets.

SIGNAL GENERATORS

The beating heart of Magellan is its three realtime virtual-analog oscillators. The first two can be blended and modulated with pulse width parameters to derive additional waveforms through a unique Timbre module. An Oscillator Unison stage activates secret oscillators to provide up to 24 oscillators per voice, perfect for supersaws or chorus/flange effects. The configurable Maximizer module enables up to 120 simultaneous oscillators per voice, creating expansive stereo sounds.

FM

Magellan's intuitive FM module adds new life to its unique hybrid design. With its own ADSR and variable contour generator, it functions as an additional sound source and transforms Magellan 2 into a capable frequency modulation synthesizer. Combined with other oscillators and modulation features, it produces rich multi-layered textures not achievable through subtractive synthesis alone.

FILTERS

The Magellan Synthesizer 2 boasts two independent filter banks with 11 different filters. These modern filters incorporate nonlinearities and analog-derived quirks that add a touch of magic to the sound. Dedicated ADSRs with extra-long maxes, along with A/B/C contour generators, offer versatility and unique playing characteristics.

MODULATION

Twin LFOs, a modulation envelope, and direct control form the backbone of Magellan's powerful and versatile modulation system. With 16 simultaneous targets, each with its own variable amount, the possibilities are endless. Each LFO/Envelope target can be assigned a secondary control for dynamic variation. The inbuilt XY-pad provides realtime control over 140 parameters, while the "EZ Velocity" module facilitates quick adjustments of amplitude, filters, and FM.

SPAWN2

The second-generation Yonac SPAWN harnesses the power of A.I. to generate countless original presets. With an Expert mode, three algorithms, and configurable autonomy down to the module level, you can create subtle variations or wild new sounds at the touch of a button.

AUv3, MIDI & MPE

The ultra-efficient synth engine and flexible user interface allow you to run multiple instances of Magellan simultaneously in your favorite AUv3 DAW or Mixer. With extensive MIDI I/O capabilities (including MIDI learn/recall and program changes), Magellan 2 is also MPE compatible, enabling full polyphonic pitch control. Assignable aftertouch and CC74 parameters provide further expression options within Magellan and other MPE apps/devices.
